About The Authors

Angela Caperton writes eclectic erotica that challenges genre conventions. Look for her stories published with Black Lace and eBury Publishing, Cleis, Circlet, Coming Together, Drollerie, eXtasy Books, Renaissance, and in the indie magazine Out of the Gutter.

Christine d’Abo loves writing in the worlds of sci-fi, BDSM, and romance. By combining the elements of those genres, Christine creates the types of stories she loves to read. Christine is currently published with Ellora’s Cave, Samhain Publishing, Carina Press, Berkley Heat, and Cleis Press.

Adele Dubois is an award-winning, multipublished erotic romance author and former newspaper and magazine columnist, features writer, and foreign correspondent. When not on the beach, she and her family enjoy their rural eastern Pennsylvania home, where she is currently working on her next novel.

Sacchi Green writes in western Massachusetts. Her stories have appeared in a hip-high stack of publications with erotically inspirational covers, and she’s also edited or co-edited seven volumes of erotica, including Girl Crazy, Lesbian Cowboys (winner of the 2010 Lambda Literary Award for lesbian erotica), Lesbian Lust, and Lesbian Cops.

Tahira Iqbal is a UK-based writer who currently works in the film and TV industry, but writing is and will always be her first love. You can find her work, an erotic vampire short story “The Queen,” in the Red Velvet and Absinthe anthology published by Cleis Press.

Myla Jackson pens wildly sexy adventures of all genres including historical westerns, medieval tales, romantic suspense, contemporary romance, and paranormals with beasties of all shapes and sizes. When not wrangling words from her computer with the help of her canine muses, she’s snow skiing, boating, or riding her ATV.

Michael M. Jones is a writer, editor, and book reviewer, which often leads to interesting conversations at family get-togethers. His stories have appeared in Rumpled Silk Sheets, Like A Queen, Like A God’s Kiss, Masked Pleasures, and more. He is the editor of the forthcoming Like A Cunning Plan: Erotic Trickster Tales.

Chris Kouju, a Malaysian writer, usually pens fantasy, science fiction, and an obscene amount of slashfic. Although lesbian erotica is not something she typically writes, she will lay hands on anything. Armed with a master’s in creative writing, she is determined to finish her first novel in gorgeous, chilly Scotland.

Anna Meadows is a part-time executive assistant, part-time Sapphic housewife. Her work appears in six Cleis Press anthologies, including Girls Who Bite. She lives and writes in northern California.

J.L. Merrow is that rare beast, an English person who refuses to drink tea. She writes across genres, with a preference for contemporary gay romance and the paranormal, and is frequently accused of humor.

Victoria Oldham is an editor of lesbian fiction and has published erotica in Girls Who Bite, Where the Girls Are, Women in Uniform, Skulls and Crossbones, and Blue Collar Lesbians. She lives in England with her partner and enjoys tromping through ruins.

Giselle Renarde is a queer Canadian, avid volunteer, contributor to more than fifty short story anthologies, and author of dozens of electronic and print books, including Anonymous, Ondine, and My Mistress’ Thighs. Ms. Renarde lives across from a park with two bilingual cats who sleep on her head.

Paisley Smith is a full-time freelance writer and can usually be found in front of her computer either writing, chatting, promoting, or plotting. It’s a glamorous life…working in one’s pajamas. She attended college in the Deep South, where she obtained a slew of totally useless degrees and developed an unrelenting sense of humor.

Karis Walsh is a horseback riding instructor in the Pacific Northwest. She is the author of Harmony and Worth the Risk (January 2012), both from Bold Strokes Books.

Coming 2012 From Cleis Press

Girls_Who_Score_thumbEven though they may not get a lot of action on the field after high school and college, girl jocks always manage to see a lot of action off the field. Because female athletes have an easy confidence about them, a natural nonchalance, and usually a killer bod, that draws all kinds of women to them – straight, lesbian, bisexual, curious, questioning, you name it.

Women are competitive by nature, whether they play sports or games. Women play hard and love harder. They don’t just score – they keep track.

Girls Who Score is filled with story after story of complex, intriguing women engaging in all kinds of, ahem, contact sports. Sinclair Sexsmith contributes "A Good Workout" at the gym with lots of hot action in the steam room and Gina Marie has two women boxers going at it in every way in her ever-so-sexy "Blood Lust." Delilah Devlin's soccer champs have a very good time in "Playing the Field," and Elle's "Game Over" has a cheerleader who "trains" a freshmen each year to serve her every need. Sporty dykes aren’t always playing ball, so to speak. After all, scuba divers and gym bunnies are in fact athletes and editor Ily Goyanes features lesbian jocks of every stripe in this sweet and sweaty volume.

Girls Who Score features Paisley Smith’s Cymone’s Dominatrix
Appolonia finished her wine and looked across the table to where another Hellene, Cymone, sat staring into her cup. Cymone. Gladiatrix prima. She dominated on the sands, knowing just how long to drag out a fight so that the crowd cheered her to victory again and again, knowing how to make a spectacle of dealing the death blow to anyone unlucky enough to have to face her. She was a true champion, an entertainer who’d risen far above her status as a slave to become one of the most celebrated gladiatrices of her time. A scar marred her olive-skinned cheek, but to Appolonia, the imperfection only made Cymone that much more intriguing, that much more beautiful. For all her prowess in the arena, however, Cymone delighted in darker pleasures of the flesh and Appolonia was pleased the gladiatrix had chosen her as her lover. Most nights, they lay in each other’s arms, kissing and caressing, bringing each other release before succumbing to the god, Hypnos’ spell. But on the evening before an appearance on the sands, Cymone allowed Appolonia a far firmer hand. Appolonia squeezed her thighs together in anticipation. Any moment, Cymone would rise, giving the signal for her to follow.

Always Room for Four with Guest Blogger, Lynn LaFleur

Always_Room_for_Four I discovered Ellora’s Cave back in 2002 by following a link from an author’s website. Whoa! I was so excited to find a publisher who didn’t close the bedroom door. I bought one book, read it, and was immediately hooked.

I’d published three sensual romances with another e-publisher, but longed to write something more edgy, and definitely sexier. My problem was I’d never used “those words” in a book. I don’t even say them in real life, so didn’t know how I could use them in a book. My two wonderful critique partners urged me to go for it. That’s how The Birthday Gift was born.

Now nine years and twenty-five Ellora’s Cave books later, I decided it was time to tell Patrick’s story. He was introduced in The Birthday Gift, the hero’s cousin and the third person of the ménage. I wanted him to meet the woman of his dreams, but I also wanted that woman to have a past relationship with another woman.

Writing about two women together was a first for me. So was writing a foursome. I had an absolute blast doing it.

Here’s a little taste of Always Room for Four. I hope you enjoy it.

* * * * *

Tera looked at Amanda’s soft hand on top of hers. So many times in college, that hand had touched Tera with tenderness and passion. She and Amanda had remained friends for years, yet had never been lovers again. They’d both become involved with the men they planned to marry. Anything between them had been pushed aside to make room for their soon-to-be husbands.

Tera no longer had a soon-to-be husband, but she had her best friend close enough to touch.

Turning her hand over, she laced her fingers with Amanda’s. She focused on their hands as she asked her next questions. “What about us? Does this foursome include us being together, or would we only be with the guys?”

Amanda remained silent. Afraid she’d said the wrong thing, Tera lifted her gaze to her friend’s face. “Would you like that?” Amanda asked softly. “Because I would.”

That confession surprised Tera almost as much as Amanda’s idea of a foursome. “You would?”

“We haven’t been together in a long time, but I’ve thought about it.”

“You never said anything.”

Amanda shrugged one shoulder. “I figured you weren’t interested anymore since you had Roger.”

“You had Jake.”

“That doesn’t mean I stopped caring for you.”

There hadn’t been anything sexual between them in seven years. After that much time, it shouldn’t seem so natural for Tera to lean closer to Amanda and kiss her tenderly. Yet it seemed as natural as drawing her next breath.

Amanda’s lips were just as soft as she remembered, just as giving beneath hers. Tera parted her lips, her tongue searched for Amanda’s. When she touched it, Tera inhaled a sharp breath. She gripped Amanda’s hand, tilted her head to deepen the kiss. Amanda answered each stroke of tongue, each slide of lips.

Blindly reaching out, Tera found Amanda’s other hand and gripped it too. She moaned low in her throat when Amanda’s tongue swept over her lips. She scooted to the edge of her chair, needing to be closer, needing to touch more of the woman seated next to her.

Much sooner than she would have liked, Tera ended the kiss. She rested her forehead against Amanda’s, wanting to continue but knowing they couldn’t at this time since Jake and Patrick waited for them in the bar. “We have to stop.”

“I know.” Amanda’s voice sounded thready, breathless. She squeezed both of Tera’s hands. “Wow.”

“Yeah.” She moved back so she could look into Amanda’s gorgeous blue eyes. “Tell me again why we stopped making love.”

“Stupidity?”

“Well, I won’t make that mistake again.”

Amanda laughed and Tera joined her. She slid from her chair, tugged Amanda to her feet to hug her. “I’ve missed you.”

“I’ve missed you too.” Amanda moved back, but kept her hands on Tera’s waist. “No matter what you decide about Jake and Patrick, you and I need some time together.”

The thought of pressing her naked body against Amanda’s made her clit gently pulse. “Yes, we do.”

A Taste of Lesbian Vampire Erotica with guest blogger, Adele Dubois

281399_2326712491744_1367625546_32808729_5574987_n When the opportunity to write a steamy short story for the GIRLS WHO BITE anthology came about, I wondered if I could handle the demands of a vampire tale. Vampires are dangerous, scary creatures, and I didn’t know if I could reach that dark place in my imagination. Add lesbian heroines to the story mix and my footing turned less sure. Though I’d included bi-sexual characters in my books for years, I knew less about the lesbian lifestyle than I did vampire lore.

Yet, the challenge intrigued me. Like an author enthralled by a vampire queen, I answered the call. I wanted to be part of something groundbreaking with other authors I admired. Girl on girl love is the last frontier of the mainstream erotic romance sub-genre. Man love stories, often written by straight women, have long been a staple of the erotic romance market. Conversely, their counterparts have been noticeably absent. The artist in me couldn’t resist writing something unique for both a straight and gay female readership.

Happily, I was able to create a story true to my voice. “The Crystal Altar” was named one of four story favorites by Love Romance Passion reviewer Susan Scholes. Reviewer Amos Lassen called the fifteen-story anthology, “literary erotica.” I couldn’t be more thrilled.

THE CRYSTAL ALTAR

by Adele Dubois

An original 4,500 word steamy short first published in the GIRLS WHO BITE lesbian vampire erotica print anthology from Cleis Press, September 2011.

Edited by Delilah Devlin.

“Five stars!” ~Love Romance Passion

An ancient crystalline cavern becomes the setting for a most unusual birthday party…

Excerpt:

Morgan wrapped her arms around Rosa’s waist and deepened the kiss. She touched her tongue to Rosa’s, and then slid it inside her lover’s mouth.

Rosa sucked in greedy little pulls. Then she licked and nipped Morgan’s bottom lip before pressing her mouth again to hers.

It was the ultimate turn-on to be wanted.

She lowered her mouth to the pulse beating against Rosa’s neck and sucked the spot with deep, hard tugs. Her teeth grazed the delicate skin and nipped until bruises formed. She swirled her tongue over the dappled plum marks and savored the taste of Rosa’s sweet flesh as blood pooled just below the surface.

Rosa leaned away and touched her neck. Tiny lines formed between her eyebrows as her eyes flashed with uncertainty. “Why did you do that?”

Morgan cradled Rosa’s breasts and lifted them higher, watching her hands squeeze and release. “I was marking you. I want to make sure the freaks at the party know you’re taken.”

Rosa laughed. “You’re jealous? I worried you’d gone Goth on me, like your whacko cousin. She probably drinks blood for sport.”

Morgan rolled her eyes. “Wouldn’t surprise me. She likes to pretend she’s a vampire. She and her entourage go to dungeon clubs in the city.” Morgan inspected the love bite on Rosa’s neck. “That looks kind of cool, though. I like it.”

Butterfly Baudelaire has sworn off strays, but the blonde coming on to her has a killer pair of fangs and looks like she knows how to use 'em. Butterfly's not banking on the bite Cissy takes out of her heart--or the fact more than her well-spanked bottom is in danger from her vampire lover.

Caramel Corner Website Winner!

caramelcornerbevel225 Woot! Coffee Time Romance picked my website as this month's winner of the Caramel Corner.

Every month, the CTR committee gets together and looks at a number of websites that have been nominated to be a spotlight website.  They look at a variety of things, features, aesthetics, and functionality.

Here’s what they say about my site:

Paisley Smith

Although stripes and plaids may be in, Paisley never goes out of style -- especially when referring to romance author Paisley Smith's website. A wordpress blog that's been customized and personalized to make it appealing and informative, it oozed southern hospitality. There's individual pages for her books, a few freebies (the first taste is free!), and a set of recipes that made my mouth water. I know I'll be cooking up some of her Southern Buttermilk Cornbread to go with our Cajun fried catfish this weekend. You'll know you're at the right place when a large splash of color greets you at the door, and just because the romance is F/F, don't be afraid to come inside. Paisley won't bite, but I won't make that promise about any of her characters!
